Tailored [skin-loving] Ingredients

NZ Grape Seed Extract

Antioxidant-rich grape seed extract defends against UV free radical damage plus improves skin elasticity and firmness. Grown in the Marlborough region, sustainably sourced NZSauvignon Blanc Grapes, these grape seeds have twice as many polyphenols than any other grape seeds in the world. Antioxidant-rich Polyphenols prevent oxidative stress and slow down the ageing process.

Probiotic Lysate

Our vegan probiotic will stimulate your natural skin regeneration to increase resilience in your skin and strengthen your skin's barrier, to reduce fine lines, sensitivity and clear breakouts faster.

Aqua

What makes up the bulk of this formulation. Water is used as the base of many skincare products including Renew, as a solvent, because it is what the other ingredients in the formulation dissolve into, to create the formula (aka the end result).

Glycerin

Glycerin will actively draw water into your skin to prevent water loss. In turn, keeping your skin hydrated and moisturised for longer (healthy looking skin).

Jojoba oil

[say it like] ho•ho•bah oil

Jojoba oil is a liquid wax and a natural occlusive agent, which moisturises, nourishes and protects your skin. This oil is a similar consistency to your skin's natural oils, making it ideal for oily skin as it helps to regulate sebum (oil) production and is non-comedogenic (meaning it won't clog your pores).

Fragrance

Infused with Tailor's iconic scent with notes of vanilla, green and floral. Our fragrance is a bespoke blend of extracts of essential oil chosen for their relaxing and soothing properties. All the ingredients in our fragrance are derived from natural sources, as essential oils can be quite active on the skin and it's important to us we made sure our fragrance is gentle.

Benzyl Alcohol

We're about to be very transparent with you here. This is our chosen preservative system in our skincare range. Benzyl alcohol is a powerful broad-spectrum antibacterial preservative used to stabilise skincare. It is multi-purpose (think Tailor) as it also helps dissolve other ingredients and decreases the viscosity (thickness) of formulas so they flow more easily - you know that squeeze of free-flow gel.

Dehydroacetic Acid

[say it like] dee•high•jrow•seat•ick•acid

One of our preservatives in Renew with a potent anti-fungal to keep this cleanser safe to use for longer - because we all love a long shelf life. When mixed (& matched) with Benzyl Alcohol they create a broad-spectrum preservative against yeasts, moulds and funguses. Take note, our preservative system is synthetically derived and is ECOCERT certified to be used in natural skincare.

Xanthan Gum

I'm a plant polysaccharide, which ​​hydrates your skin without clogging those pores. And with long term use, they've been *scientifically proven* to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

*You'll want to mix and match me with Polish, as it has Bentonite clay (one of the most absorbant clays there is) which will help draw out all those unwanted impurities, Salicylic Acid (BHA) to deeply cleanse your pores to unclog, and Pumice powder to gently buff away dead skin cells. Ultimately, clearing breakouts.

Dry skin

My Probiotic Lysate will help strengthen your skin's barrier to boost your skin's renewal, which will help clear dry dead skin cells.

Oily skin

I am non-comedogenic, and won't clog your pores while I work hard to reduce skin sensitivity, breakouts and signs of ageing.

Ageing skin

I have antioxidant-rich Grape Seed Extract to defend against UV* free radical damage, and improve elasticity and firmness in your skin. This will give a youthful complexion.

*You'll want to mix and match me with Gold Dust, as it has Vitamin C in it to boost your collagen production for increased firmness and elasticity in your skin. A double dose of plump skin.

Combination skin

Parts of your skin are oily and parts of your skin are dry. I have a Probiotic Lysate which will help strengthen your skin's barrier to prevent transdermal water loss.

Dehydrated skin

Delivered in our recyclable iconic blue glass bottles. Disposable with mixed glass recycling, or up cycled as far as your imagination takes you.

Box

Delivered in our recyclable (via curb side recycling) and compostable (via at-home compost) ‘Well-Managed Forests’ certified card box, and printed with vegetable ink.

Pump

Delivered with a pump to dispense product. Right now, these pumps cannot be recycled. Disposable by a specialised recycling program such as Terracycle for responsible disposal.
